Brackenridge Privacy Statement

Your privacy is important to us.  We at Brackenridge Services Limited (Brackenridge) respect your privacy at all times. We ask for personal information when we need it for support-related purposes and to provide a service to you. This information is stored electronically and is subject to the Privacy Act 2020 and all subsequent amendments. You have the right to access and request correction of any of your information held. You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services.

What we use your personal information for

We use your personal information for Brackenridge support-related purposes, which may include but is not limited to:

  • asking you or your whānau to fill out forms that give us information about you;

  • contacting you when needed;

  • contacting your whānau, caregiver or legal guardian when needed;

  • providing support services;

  • asking external parties such as other agencies you work with for information about you;

  • inviting you to events;

  • meeting Health and Safety requirements;

  • reviewing and updating our support and services; and

  • for marketing and promotional purposes;

  • acknowledging any support you provide including donations you make;

  • working with us – either as an employee, a volunteer, a contractor or a supplier.

Information storage

If you are receiving support from us, we store your personal information electronically in our customer database system. You can view and update this information by asking your support team to assist you with this. The system holds important information about all aspects of the support you receive from Brackenridge and your wellbeing including medical information required to support you.  It also includes general information, for example, about permission for photos and other uploads to be shared through our publicly facing communication channels, such as our newsletters. 

We also store information on Brackenridge databases and servers maintained by our IT service providers. Brackenridge takes appropriate measures, by contract or otherwise, to provide protection for personal information.  Brackenridge uses security measures and maintains reasonable safeguards to protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of your personal information.

Cookies

Cookies are only used on this website to store your login details and tell the website you are logged in. The site will not function correctly without them.

Currently, we operate an ‘implied consent’ policy which means that we assume you are happy with this usage. Information sharing

We will never sell your personally identifying information.  We may share anonymised statistical information where you are not personally identifiable, for example as statistical data where the individuals involved are not identifiable.

In the case of any incident, accident, illness, or other emergency requiring treatment, your personal information will be made available to external parties for the purposes of treatment or to protect your welfare. 

In all other cases, your personal information will only be accessible to Brackenridge personnel and will not be made available to any other person or organisation without your permission except when required by law.

Information retention

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary in order to provide you with your requested service and for related Brackenridge marketing purposes. What information we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
