Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People

Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People is a new ministry set up  in partnership with the community and Māori to transform the lives of many New Zealanders. Whaikaha was established in July 2022, to assist in shaping a better future for all people with disabilities in New Zealand, Aotearoa.

One in four New Zealanders identifies as disabled. The new Ministry encourages the voices of the disabled community to have a true part in shaping the future. If you are a disabled person, family/whānau member, friend or supporter, have your say on the Whaikaha website. They have designed an accessible online platform that offers a variety of ways to get involved in different campaigns.
